Mixmate app for iPhone and iPad

A handy application that calculates the amount of materials needed for laying a concrete slab. Simply type in the width, length and depth of the concrete and the app will calculate the amount of sand, stone, cement and water needed.

Each material has it’s own settings screen where you can select between small bags and bulk bags. The exact weight of each bag can be set, as well as the price to give you an estimate of the total cost of the works. You can also set it to use either metric or imperial measurements.

All results are based on 1-2-4 mix ratio which is one part cement, two parts sand and four parts stone. The amount of materials needed, including water, will vary dependent upon environmental and physical factors such as the ground type.

Please note, the estimates produced are for general purposes only, such as shallow pads or garden tasks. Always consult an expert if you are unsure before carrying out any work and results should be independently checked. This calculator must not be used for structural works such as building foundations.
